Roelie van Wijk-Russchen

Roelie van Wijk - Russchen CEFA is Global Head of Responsible Business & Public Affairs at Aegon Asset Management since January 2018. A global role to improve and support global responsible business and sustainable investments within Aegon. Roelie has worked in the financial industry over 25 years. Prior to her current role she was CEO of TKP Investments for more than a decade. A global multi-manager investor within Aegon AM. During her leadership it quadrupled in size to around €30 bln. Proud winner of the first Gouden Pump Award in 2012 by VIIP for its diversity approach. Before Aegon/TKP she held numerous senior investment and management positions e.g. at SNS Asset Management, Philips Pension Fund, PGGM and the Dutch Railway Pension Fund.
Currently Roelie is Chair of the Investment Leaders Group of the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership. This is a global network of pension funds, insurers and asset managers committed to advancing the practice of responsible investment. She helps influential individuals and major organizations in the sector develop strategies that reconcile profitability and sustainability and to work collaboratively with their peers. Since 2014 she has been part of the Board of the Dutch Fund and Asset Management Association and was appointed Chair in 2018. Dufas promotes the collective interests of asset managers operating on and from the Dutch market. Sustainability is a key topic. Additional work worth mentioning is for the IMVO Committee that was responsible for drawing up an ESG covenant for pension funds, signed in December 2018 by 73 pension funds. She was also a member of the “Taakgroep Financiering”, part of the Climate Board striving to achieve a Dutch climate agreement and resulting in the signing of a voluntary commitment of the whole Dutch financial sector to the Cabinet’s climate goals in July 2019.
