Dick Boer

Dick Boer, former CEO of Ahold has spoken on the theme "The infinite Network" at the EBF Conference 2015. Boer joined Ahold in 1998 as CEO of Ahold Czech Republic and was appointed President and CEO of Albert Heijn in 2000. In 2003, he became President and CEO of Ahold’s Dutch operating companies. Ahold’s shareholders appointed him to the Corporate Executive Board on May 3, 2007.

In September 2010, the Supervisory Board appointed Dick Boer Chief Executive Officer of Ahold. Prior to that date, Dick served as Chief Operating Officer Ahold Europe, to which he was appointed on November 6, 2006. Dick learned the tricks of the trade of being in the retail business from his father, Jan Boer. Jan Boer owned a grocery shop in the town of Axel in Zeeland, The Netherlands. That’s where he learned how to attract customers and how to increase revenue. After high school, Dick studied Business Economics in Breda. In 2007, the magazine FoodPersonality appointed Dick Boer as Foodmanager of the year.
