Hein Schumacher, Chief Executive Officer, Royal FrieslandCampina N.V. spoke at the EBF Conference in 2018. Here, he shared his insights in how a dairy company keeps course in these challenging times and how it works jointly with its member farmers and other stakeholders towards a new equilibrium to remain successful, for now and generations to come.
Hein Schumacher was appointed CEO on January 1, 2018. Before, Hein held the position of Chief Financial Officer. He has been a member of the FrieslandCampina Executive Board since 2015. Prior to joining FrieslandCampina, Hein Schumacher has held several international positions at companies in the CPG industry, like Unilever N.V., Royal Ahold N.V. and Heinz, now KraftHeinz.
During his time at Heinz (2003-2014), he was based in the USA as Vice President & Chief Strategy Officer, in London as Vice President & Chief Financial Officer Europe and in Shanghai as President Greater China and later Executive Vice President for the Asia Pacific region and member of the Global Executive Leadership Team. Hein Schumacher holds degrees in Political Science & International Relations from the University of Amsterdam and in Banking and Finance from the Amsterdam Academy / Free University. Hein is a member of the Supervisory Board at TIAS School for Business & Society, Utrecht / Tilburg the Netherlands.
