Hein Jalving

My name is Hein, and I am pleased to introduce myself as the Vice-Chairman of the EBF Conference Board 2024-2025!

I am 24 years old and unlike Jeffrey, I am an 'actual' Groninger, since I have been born in stadskanaal and raised in Ter Apel, meaning that I can call myself an official 'Ommelander'. I am currently starting my Master’s in International Economics and Sustainable Development, after obtaining my propedeuse in Sports Science, my Bachelor’s in Media Studies, and my pre-MSc in Economic Development & Globalization, while also having completed an Ironman.

As Vice-Chairman, I am responsible for the theme and speakers, as well as major aspects of PR, including the website and physical promotion. This role requires in-depth knowledge about potential speakers for the Conference, which you gain by reading interviews and following the news. I believe that my interest in news, politics, and journalism helps me greatly in this role, often making it feel more like a hobby than a responsibility.

Additionally, what I hope to gain from this board year is a unique insight into the lives of Dutch leaders, something that is normally not easily accessible, along with the valuable opportunity to build a strong network for the future.
